Mask Up, Canyons! We all Have a Role to Play in Defeating COVID-19

Stand united, stay strong and activate your mask superpower! Not all superheroes wear capes, some wear masks — and as we start the 2020-2021 school year, all Canyons District students, employees, parents and patrons will have a role to play in defeating the common foe of COVID-19.

Canyons District schools and facilities are adhering to Utah Gov. Gary Herbert’s order requiring the use of face coverings in K-12 schools. It is expected that every student and employee in a school facility or on a school bus will wear a face covering — a must-have item for families to add to their back-to-school shopping lists.

Choose Your Learning Path: Online Registration for School Starts July 27

Want your child to attend school in the fall?  Canyons is providing that option. Would you prefer to enroll your students in online classes?  We’ve got you. Want to guide your child’s learning at home — but still maintain the services available at the neighborhood school?  You can pick that option, too. 

Canyons District is providing options for families for fall 2020 as part of its COVID-19 Back-to-School Action Plan. Parents will be able to choose to enroll their children in either in-person classes or online classes during Online Registration, which starts July 27, 2020.

During registration, families will be guided through a series of questions to assist them in making their choices. But, to help families prepare and discuss their options at home, here is a rundown of the different learning options available, and step-by-step description of the Online Registration process. We’ve also published a list of answers to Frequently Asked Questions on our COVID-19 information page.

Canyons District Moves Forward with Back-to-School Action Plan

With a focus on health, wellness and learning, Canyons District has developed a Back-to-School Action Plan to guide operations for the 2020-2021 school year. 

The plan, approved by the Canyons Board of Education on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, was required by the Utah State Board of Education, which has directed all Utah public schools to create a plan to return to school safely. The plan will be submitted to state education officials on Aug. 1.
